| Winter Education Camp 2008 | |
| MacSkimming Pioneer Village roved to be the perfect "Old fashioned Winter" scene for SLOV's third annual Winter Education Camp. The snow held off until all 65 participants from every corner of the region had arrived safely. The Learning launched friday evening with Mike of Dr Bones and his full size Equine skeleton. In a "humorous" fashion we learned about evolution of the equine and the names for bones. Saturday morning after breakfast clinics were given by Ron Stibbe (Equine Dental Technician) Cat Hunter (Conformation) Diana Bayer (ever popular Snow Dressage) Mark Isenburg (Feeding Your Pony) Sarah Mayo ( Carreers in Equine) and Chantal Hortop. Saturday evening we were treated to Peter's fine roast beef dinner and free time to enjoy their tin lanterns and glowing balls. Sunday morning a mini Quiz was held to see how much we learned. The answer was "alot". | |

Danielle (Rideau), Clara (KRPC), Emily (LOL), Anne Marie (NPC) and Amy (LOL). Danielle, Clara, Emily and Amy placed 3rd overall in the team competition of C Level. In individual competition, Clara achieved C Level Champion. Anne Marie placed 6th in AB Individual competition and 7th in the A/B team competition. |
